Choosing Driving Lessons

Looking for help finding driving lessons?

Pass rates.

Pass rates, well this is another interesting topic. Most people are worried about the pass rate of certain driving instructors or pass rates at certain test centres, well if you are properly prepared for a driving test by taking quality driving lessons and have been entered for a driving test when your driving reaches a competent level then you should have no worries about pass rates.

Driving test centre pass rates.
The national average test centre pass rate is around %45, however individual test centre pass rates can vary from around %28 to around %60 depending on the test centre that you use. The complexity of road junctions and road layout vary, and taking a practical driving test on quiet roads in the North of Scotland will be different from taking a practical driving test in the centre of London.

Driving Instructor pass rates.
A driving instructors pass rate can vary, from personal experience I see a number of people consecutively pass the test and then see a number of people consecutively fail the test.

You must also understand that some driving instructors specialise in teaching certain groups of people how to drive, the pass rate of an driving instructor who specialises in teaching only nervous pensioners how to drive may differ considerably from a driving instructor who only teaches young 17 year olds how to drive.
