Changes to the driving test 2010.

The theory and practical driving tests have both undergone changes since their introduction and more changes to the practical driving test are due to arrive in October 2010. One of the bigger changes to the driving test this year will be the introduction of independent driving where candidates will be required to navigate using road signs and road markings for a period of around 10 minutes without directions from the examiner. Also candidates will only be required to perform 1 of the reverse manoeuvres rather than 2 as at present. Emergency stop will still take place on 1 in 4 tests as at present.
