Buying a first car.
|
When you pass your driving it may be time to think about buying a car but where should you start?
Well there are a lot of considerations, and to a large extent it depends on what you can afford although
it is well worth considering some of the following.
- Financing a car:- Try to put as big a deposit down on a car as you can afford, car finance can be quite
expensive so if you do finance a balance on a car check out the APR, it might be cheaper to get a bank loan
rather than financing the car through the garage.
- Insurance:- Car insurance should be a major consideration, check out the cost of car insurance before you
buy the car you like, sometimes the cost of car insurance on a first
car could well be more than the cost of the car, it certainly could be a £1000 plus.
- Engine size:- The bigger the engine the higher the insurance and the more fuel it will take to run the
car as well as higher road tax.
- Maintenance costs:- Think about how much a car service costs for the make and model of car you are buying
different makes of car can cost more or less to service. Brakes and Tyre's might not seem like much of a
consideration but a tyre can range anywhere from around £20 to around £15 each.
